Prof. Ma Maode Dr. Maode Ma received his BE degree from Tsinghua University in 1982, his ME degree from Tianjin University in 1991 and his Ph.D. degree in computer science from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 1999. Now, Dr. Ma is an Associate Professor in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He has extensive research interests including wireless networking and wireless network security. He has led and/or participated in around 20 research projects funded by government, industry, military and universities in various countries. He has been a member of the technical program committees for more than 100 international conferences. He has been a general chair, technical symposium chair, tutorial chair, publication chair, publicity chair and session chair for more than 50 international conferences. Dr. Ma has more than 200 international academic publications including more than 70 journal papers, more than 140 conference papers and/or book chapters, and 3 academic books. Dr. Ma is the Editor-in-Chief of International journal of Electronic Transport and Topic Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of the Advancements in Computing Technology. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Communications Letters, a Senior Editor for IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials, and an Associate Editor for International Journal of Network and Computer Applications, International Journal of Security and Communication Networks, and International Journal of Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing. Prof. Dr. K. R. Kashwan Professor Dr. K. R. Kashwan received his M. Tech. degree in Electronics Design and Technology and Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Tezpur University (Central University), Tezpur, INDIA in the years 2002 and 2007 respectively. Dr. Kashwan is a certified Chartered Engineer in Electronics & Communication Engineering. His research areas are VLSI Design, Communication Systems, Circuits and Systems, Embedded Systems, Electronic Nose and SoC / PSoC. He has been with Sona College of Technology (Autonomous), Salem-636005, INDIA, for the past six years as Professor and head / DEAN PG in the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, PG Division. Dr. Kashwan has over 20 years experience in teaching, research and industry. He has taught many courses in Electronics and Communication Engineering at graduate and undergraduate level. He also heads the Centre for VLSI Design and Embedded SoC at Sona College of Technology. He is member of Academic Council, Research Committee and Chairman of Board of Studies of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Sona College of Technology. He has published many papers at national and international level. He has attended many international conferences / symposiums and delivered many invited / plenary / expert lectures in India and abroad. He has successfully guided many scholars. Dr. Kashwan has guided 45 ME / M. Tech and 5 BE projects. He is approved Ph.D. Guide at Anna University, Coimbatore and currently guiding / Supervising 13 PhD students for their Doctoral Thesis. He has undertaken academic visits to many countries for possible collaboration and knowledge exchange. He was invited by British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing, UK, for Annual Convene for Technical Discussion, Visited Multi-Media University, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for Collaboration Research, Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia, University Jember, Indonesia for Plenary Talks and Donghua University, Shangai, China for presenting research papers. Dr. Kashwan is a Senior Member of IACSIT, Singapore, Member of IASTED, Canada, Member of IEEE, USA, Life member of ISTE, INDIA and member of Institution of Engineers (INDIA). He is currently supervising funded research projects for innovative technologies in the areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Keynote Speech III
Prof. Xudong Jiang Xudong Jiang received the B.Eng. and M.Eng. degree from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, China in 1983 and 1986, respectively, and received the Ph.D. degree from the Helmut Schmidt University Hamburg, Germany in 1997, all in electrical and electronic engineering. From 1986 to 1993, he worked as Lecturer at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China where he received two Science and Technology Awards from the Ministry for Electronic Industry of China. He was a recipient of the German Konrad-Adenauer Foundation young scientist scholarship. From 1993 to 1997, he was with the Helmut Schmidt University Hamburg, Germany as scientific assistant. From 1998 to 2002, He worked with the Centre for Signal Processing (CSP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, first as Research Fellow and then as Senior Research Fellow, where he developed a fingerprint verification algorithm that achieved the fastest and the second most accurate fingerprint verification in the International Fingerprint Verification Competition (FVC2000). From 2002 to 2004 he worked as Lead Scientist and appointed as the Head of Biometrics Laboratory at the Institute for Infocomm Research, A*Star, Singapore. From 2002 to 2004 he was an Adjunct Assistant Professor. and joined NTU as a full time faculty member in 2004. Currently, Dr Jiang is an Associate Professor (tenured) of School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University and is appointed as Director of Centre for Information Security (CIS). Dr Jiang has published over seventy research papers in international refereed journals and conferences. He is also an inventor of one PCT patent application, three Singapore patents and three United States patents, some of which were commercialized. Dr Jiang is a senior member of IEEE and has been serving as Editorial Board Member, Guest Editor and Reviewer of multiple international journals, and serving as Program Committee member, Keynote Speaker and Session Chair of multiple international conferences. His research interest includes pattern recognition, computer vision, image and signal processing, biometrics, face recognition and fingerprint recognition.
